Designed for avid photographers (from enthusiast to pro) to get gallery-worthy images of multiple penguin species, including the king penguin, along with other birds, seals, and whales native and migrating in the area. You don’t have to be a photographer to join, but you must want to spend time in the field with wildlife. Trip dates are specifically designed to maximize opportunities to photograph baby chicks and seals. Species include: King penguins, chinstraps, macaronis, gentoo, Adelie, Magellanic, fur seals, elephant seals, leopard seals, and Weddell seals. Trip also includes one-on-one editing tutorials in Lightroom, Photoshop, and Topaz.

Antarctica and South Georgia Island provide allow photographers and wildlife lovers the opportunity to view Antarctic and sub-Arctic species in their natural habitat. Enjoy the calving of glaciers and the skyscraper ice bergs along with breaching whales and swimming penguins. Seals haul out on ice floes. Penguins porpoise in the surf. ALL WILD DEPARTURES GUESTS ENJOY A BALCONY SUITE on board our state-0f-the-art ship, enabling 24-7 viewing and photography from your room. Plus, our departure maximizes time photographing the newest additions to the southern hemisphere: baby animals.

Our Ship and Accommodations:

We set sail on a vessel designed for the Arctic with state-of-the art amenities. All Wild Departures rooms are suites, complete with a balcony so you never have to miss a single moment. In-room television, double beds, private bath and shower, along with sitting room, encompass a space of 215 sq. ft. with a 55 sq. ft. walk-out balcony. The ship has an observation lounge, library, gourmet chef, heated pool, sauna, spa, outdoor track and exercise facility.
